"If ever were there a time for a Summit, now is the time."
Those were the words of a Las Vegas casino manager, who said he’s looking forward to a couple of upcoming conferences that could shed light on how to fight through the current economic downturn.
"We’re willing to look at anything, anything that we can apply positively," said the GM, who asked that his name not be printed. "We’re always open to new and better ways of doing things."
The two upcoming conferences have traditionally been well-attended by casino managers, and usually rated highly for their insightful programs.
The first one is the seventh annual Gaming Technology Summit, scheduled for May 19-21, at Green Valley Ranch resort in Las Vegas.
The Summit has become the favored venue for industry professionals to discuss real-world technology challenges and solutions for all segments of the gaming industry.
The other conference is the much anticipated Casino Marketing Conference, scheduled for July 20-22 at Paris Las Vegas. Now in its sixth year, the conference is expected to tap into new marketing tools that managers are hungry to apply in these troubled times.
"We have serious topics for a serious recession year, but we plan to have some fun along the way as only good marketers can," said Dennis Conrad, president and chief strategist for Raving Consulting Company, co-producer of the conference along with BNP Media.
