KING FELIX: If you drafted Seattle righty Felix Hernandez in your fantasy league, you are as happy as Seattle is. King is 4-0 with a 2.38 ERA and 36 strikeouts. Felix and KC’s Zack Greinke should be leading candidates now to start the All-Star Game for the AL.
THANKS JOHN: GT subscriber John Stewart suggested in his Twitter that we should list the percentage of wins by teams when favored, when underdogs and games won by 2 runs or more. That’s a lot, but we’ll try. For now let’s take a winner like the St. Louis Cardinals. In the team’s 17 victories, 14 have been by at least 2 runs (82.4%). With St. Louis playing well, giving the 1½ runs (especially at home) is a very solid play.
BET THE FIRST AT HILTON: Bettors who like quick action can wager on whether any game that day will see scoring in the first inning. “Believe it or not people love it,” said Hilton’s cutting edge Jay Kornegay. “First inning scoring is the only new thing we’ve done and it has caught on.”
