The two teams that reached last year’s NBA finals, the L.A. Lakers and Boston Celtics, try to close out their respective semi-final series on the road tonight.
Boston Celtics at Orlando Magic -7: The Magic showed their immaturity Tuesday night, not only by blowing a 14-point fourth quarter lead, but by pointing fingers at each other after the game. The loss should galvanize them tonight against the Celtics, who have been playing with nothing buy heart in the post season. Nonetheless, Orlando is the more talented squad and they should get the job done at home tonight and force a Game 7 in Boston. Orlando -7
L.A. Lakers -8 ½ at Houston Rockets: The Lakers were embarrassed at Houston on Sunday night, so they returned the favor on Tuesday. If they can duplicate that last effort they should prevail here against a depleted Houston team that is playing without its top inside player, Yao Ming. However, the Lakers have shown a tendency to play complacently this season, and Houston will try to make it a blue-collar slugfest underneath the rim. Although the Lakers will probably put this one away, it won’t be a cakewalk, so Houston plus the points looks like the better bet. Houston +8 ½
