HALLADAY SEASON: Toronto began the week with 26 wins and Roy Halladay already has 8 or nearly 31 percent of the success. The Blue Jays ace righty (8-1, 2.78 ERA) figures to start this weekend at Atlanta as our first dose of interleague play begins.
AL VS NL: As we said above, interleague play starts Friday and quickly ends Sunday. The one series not affected is San Diego and the Cubs at Chicago, which is probably a very good thing for the home team the way the Padres are going. You have the usual backyard brawls: Orioles-Nats, Rays-Marlins, Angels-Dodgers, Indians-Reds, Royals-Cards, but the one we’re eyeing is the improved Rangers against the Astros in Houston.
MY EYES ON TEXAS: We picked the Rangers to win the AL West over the mighty Angels. So far it’s working out, especially in the wallet as Texas is up over $600 from last week to +$1060. This week the Rangers are on the road – visiting Detroit before that trip to the Juice Box.
