Station Casinos announced Friday that chief operating officer Blake Sartini will purchase its slot route company, Southwest Gaming Services, for an exchange of stock worth $14 million.

As part of the sale, Sartini will step down as COO but will retain a seat on Station’s board of directors. He will also continue to be a major shareholder in the company.

Sartini, who has worked for Station Casinos for 18 years, said: “The timing is right for me to accept a new challenge and, as co-founder of Southwest Gaming, I have always had a special interest in the slot route business.”
