Twins -125 vs Brewers (9)
Minnesota is happy to be home after a 1-6 road trip that began with four straight last at-bat losses to the Yankees and ended with a 20-1 blowout win over the White Sox. Since returning to the lineup, Twins catcher Joe Mauer has hit eight homers – just one shy of his entire 2008 output. Milwaukee at 14-8 owns the second best road record in the majors and overall is on an 8-2 run. The Twins are 14-9 at home, 5-14 away.
Manny Parra has been Milwaukee’s hottest pitcher, going 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA this month. Parra tossed seven shutout innings last year in a victory over Minnesota in interleague play. Minnesota starter Kevin Slowey is 5-1 overall and has never lost to the Brewers, going 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA. You don’t see too many pitcher’s duels at the Metrodome, but the projected total of 9 is high considering the current form of Parra and Slowey. UNDER.
