MLB baseball (parlay)

11:10 a.m. PT at Chicago and St. Louis

White Sox -200 vs Pirates (8½)

Cardinals -140 vs Royals (8½)

You have two auto races today so here’s a 2-teamer in baseball. We choose these two since each series has been similar. Both the White Sox and Cardinals have won each of the first two games by shutout. And, both Chicago and St. Louis have starting pitchers capable of pulling off the hat trick.

Chicago lefty Mark Buehrle is 6-1 with a fine 2.77 ERA and even better (3-0, 1.56) lifetime against the Pirates. St. Louis righty Joel Pineiro is 5-3 with a 3.48 ERA and keeps the ball in play, which should work well against the weak Pirates lineup. Pittsburgh starter Jeff Karstens has trouble going past five innings and KC righty Brian Bannister has a 6.94 ERA against St. Louis.

With both the Pirates and Royals offenses in lock down, we like home cooking to pull off a sweep. WHITE SOX -1½, CARDINALS.
