WMS Gaming has installed its first video poker machines in Australia.

The move is a major victory for the Chicago-based slot giant. Australia is the second-largest gaming market in the world after the United States.

"Our goal is to establish a strong footprint of our popular video slot machine titles and garner significant market share," said Brian R. Gamache, president and CEO.

The first installations of the company's trademark Jackpot Party multi-line, multi-coin machines have already begun in clubs and casinos in New South Wales, according to a wire report.

The machines will run on a hardware platform developed by Australia's Stargames Ltd.

WMS has also submitted its popular Monopoly-themed games to New South Wales authorities for approval.
