HOLLYWOOD PARK

ONEFUNSONOFAGUN: Was on the pace, but between horses. Moved to the outside in the stretch and shot to the front only to be caught late. This girl may have needed this race and will not get run down in her next start.

RUSSIAN LIQUOR: Finished last, but tossed his head at the start and then hesitated. He never really participated in the race. Just throw that result out. It was just a workout. Upgrade this one’s chances next time out.

THE USUAL Q.T.: Comebacker was well meant and may have been best having had to move to the far outside when making his run. He came storming home while five wide and just did miss by a head. This guy won’t be a maiden for long. $$$$$

SCOFIELD BARRACKS: First-time starter out of the Bruce Headley barn got squeezed off at the start and was 12th in a field of 12. He made a wide late run and picked up the place in a top notch try despite the bad luck.

HIHO GERONIMO: Was inside then outside on the backstretch. Swung out further on the second turn and went four wide into the stretch. Was flat out tired from his early roaming around the course. This guy will be a great play in his next start as he gets a huge barn switch. $$$$$

ATTICUS WILDCAT: Turf Paradise shipper just exploded in the stretch in this 6½ furlong 25K maiden claimer to win going away. Look for this girl to move up to a starter allowance claim proof race and repeat.

NITRO ACTIVE: Was stuck down on the rail and sat waiting for an opening. He was steadied and blocked in the stretch and midstretch. Finally found an opening and split rivals getting up late for the win in a super effort. Look for another victory in the very near future.

CALIFORNIA FAIR CIRCUIT

WALKER RD: Showed early speed when vying for the lead, but then dropped back to last at the half mile pole. Suddenly came again and just did lose by a neck in a strange ride.

OUR MAN LUKE: Shipped in from Hollywood Park for this 20K maiden turf route, but showed no speed and was far back from his outside post. He did make a nice move at the top of the stretch coming on late to pick up the show dough. This guy could pop soon for his new connections.

SURFER DAVE: First-time starter ran a much better than looked race. He was bet like a good thing and could be a nice single in his next start for trainer Steven Miyadi. $$$$$

COMMON TRUST: Made a late run to finish fourth, beaten less than two lengths. If Baze rides this guy next time out for trainer Bud Klokstad, just go to the window and send it in. $$$$$

MAGIC TEXAN: Was last seen running at Aqueduct in March. Showed up here in this 5 furlong turf sprint and just took it to this bunch in a three length victory. This guy can run and will repeat.

QUAN’S GIRL: Likes this turf course and is coming off a very solid win despite being six wide down the lane. She could move up and repeat.

DARK WAVE: Improving and looks to be sitting on the maiden breaker. The price will be right.
