Bombay takes us to India where we encounter coiled cobras, beautiful veiled princesses, jade elephants, jeweled enamel boxes and exotic musical instruments.

This game from IGT is a 5 reel, 100 line slot with a 5x max bet features two bonuses – the Jewel Box and Free Spin. The one we happened to play was at the Rainbow in downtown Henderson.

Don’t be intimated by the 100 lines. One of the great features of this game is that even if you don’t play all the lines, when you get into the bonus all 100 pay!

The Jewel Box bonus is triggered when three Jewel boxes appear on reels 3, 4 and 5. You are then prompted to choose one of three jewel boxes, once for an amount and a second time for a multiplier.

The free spin bonus is triggered when three or more princesses appear on a played line. With 100 lines paying during the 10 free spins, the game begins to really pay.

I usually play 53 to 67 lines at 1x per line once in a while I will go to 2x per line, but betting a $1.06 or more per spin is a little rich for me. I recently did play 57 lines 2x bet and got five scatters which paid $120. Sometimes you have to take a chance.

Sea-Monkey update

A friend, who I frequently go out gambling with, visited Ellis Island and decided to try his luck with the Amazing Sea-Monkey (which I reviewed June 2, 2009). With a 2x per line bet he got into the bonus. He won 27 games with a 13x pay and collected three diamonds, one of which had $50 behind it.

When the bonus was finished he played two more spins and got into the bonus again. After these two bonus spins he had $240. A pretty good payout from his original $5 investment, I’d say.
