NOT JUST LA: The Dodgers still have the best record in baseball without Manny, but the Giants and Rockies are making their own noise. San Francisco is now 6 games over .500 winning 9 of its last 10 home games. Colorado is even better, winners of 11 straight and showing signs that the 2007 blitz to the NL pennant wasn’t a fluke. 3B Ian Stewart may be one of the best kept secrets in baseball.
PARITY, BABY: Baseball is basically win 6 of 10 or lose 4 of 10 if you throw out the Dodgers and Nationals. Baltimore and Cleveland are winning 43 percent and that’s the worst in the AL. Arizona is around 43 percent in the NL and Philly is at 59. Sounds to us like playing the underdogs daily (like Colorado) is a very good policy.
JUST SAY IT: As soon as ESPN mentioned that the Los Angeles Dodgers had a 5-23 record at American League ballparks since 2005, they win 2 straight at Texas. Now if we can bottle that... – Mark Mayer
