If you can, or even if you can’t, there are some great handicapping contests coming up in the Las Vegas area this summer.
For instance, the Gold Coast Casino features its annual Summer Classic on July 23-25, with a $400 entry fee; the top five finishers earn berths into the Horseplayer’s World Series on Feb. 18-20 at the Orleans Casino.
Next month Wynn Las Vegas hosts its $125,000 guaranteed Race Handicapping Challenge, in which the buy-in is $2,000. The contest takes place August 7-8 and uses just races from Saratoga and Del Mar.
Of course the Hilton’s Pick the Ponies takes place Aug. 27-29, with an entry fee of $500 that is reduced by $100 if you get in before the early bird deadline of Aug. 17.
Who could ask for more?
