Managements of the Harrah’s Entertainment, Trump Entertainment and the Tropicana casinos in Atlantic City are proposing that Local 54 of UNITE-HERE accept a three-year contract that will freeze wages.

The union represents about 15,000 waiters, bartenders, housekeepers and dishwashers while the casino companies own eight of the city’s 11 casinos.

Cited as the reasons to hold costs in line were the economic downturn and the recent addition of racinos in Pennsylvania.
