Although video slots are the current rage, don’t count out stepper slots for high-octane excitement and the chance to win big. A case in point is the new Big Shot slot from Casino Date Systems, which just won approval form the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Based on its highly successful Deluxe Stepper series of slot games, Big Shot features a “jump to win” nudge feature that allows symbols to “move” to the payline only when it will create a winning combination.

Big Shot also features a bonus “reel” that pays up to 4,000 bonus credits. To get into the bonus game, slot players must line up three Mr. Big Shot symbols for three spins on the bonus reel. With each spin of the reel, the player accumulates credits for a bonus payout.

Finally, Big Shot offers a rapid-hit progressive jackpot that resets at $200,000. Currently available in 25-cent games, Big Shot will soon come out with a $1 denomination game as well.

“With the tremendous response our Deluxe Stepper games have received from players, we are delighted to offer a progressive link featuring these popular games,” said Dave Lucchese, vice president of Games and Gaming for CDS. “Big Shot has the added excitement of a chance to win $200,000. With a theoretical jackpot hit frequency that rivals the most popular progressive games available, Big Shot games have what it takes.”

Fruits of labor

Another new slot that recently gained approval from Nevada regulators is Atronic’s Crazy Fruits, a video slot that will debut at three casinos: Sunset, Santa Fe and Boulder Stations.

The Crazy Fruits activities began last week at the three casinos, where marketing teams greeted players, answered their questions and cheered them on as they played the new Crazy Fruits games.

Throughout the days of the initial release, players will be eligible to receive Atronic Crazy Fruits T-shirts and key chains. Playing the Crazy Fruits game is enhanced when players advance to the bonus round.
