Luxor’s IMAX Theater hosts All-Access concert

The powerful new IMAX film, “All Access: Front Row. Backstage. Live!” recently debuted at the Luxor Las Vegas.

Performances by larger-than-life rock stars on the IMAX larger-than-life screens, coupled with candid backstage moments, make for an intimate yet powerful portrayal that most fans have never had the opportunity to experience firsthand.

The mega rock concert features an amazing lineup of artists including Carlos Santana, Sting, Al Green, George Clinton and B.B. King, plus contemporary musicians Dave Matthews Band, Moby, Sheryl Crow, Rob Thomas, Mary J. Blige, Kid Rock, Macy Gray, The Roots, Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Cheb Mami.

The film gives a rare glimpse at the action behind the scenes of great rock concerts ”” rehearsals, sound checks, casual conversations, musical collaborations and more ”” interspersed between amazing performances.

Moreover, the IMAX technology allows fans to become fully immersed in the on-screen sights, sounds and emotions. Projected onto a screen nearly seven stories high, IMAX films have frames that are 10 times the size of conventional 35mm film ”” resulting in awe-inspiring images that envelop viewers and pulls them into the picture.

The 312-seat IMAX Theater at the Pharaoh’s Pavilion features a booming 15,000-watt sound system; in addition, an eight-channel, multi-dimensional, digital surround sound system is incorporated in the IMAX Personal Sound Environment head set, the latest technology in 3-D sound.
