Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida will try to defend his Light Heavyweight title against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua this Saturday night. Machida, a Brazilian native, comes in as a heavy favorite at -380. Machida is undefeated in the UFC and is known for his extremely impressive Karate skills. He tends to pick his opponents apart and wait until they tire before delivering a flurry of blows to their body and head with his kicks and punches.

Rua is the underdog at +320. Rua is also a Brazilian native who just came off an impressive knockout of former Light Heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell. Rua has a Muay Thai background to go along with his incredible Jiu-Jitsu skills. He is more than ready for this fight. If there is someone who can knock Machida off his throne, it's Rua.

This fight should be extremely entertaining. Look for Machida to try to get Rua up against the fence and try to pick his shots with punches and kicks. Rua can hold his own on his feet, but will most likely try to take Machida to the ground and look for the submission.

I am going to pick Machida to successfully defend his title. He is in great shape and has deadly speed and pinpoint accuracy.
