College football:

UNLV -1½ vs. New Mexico: The UNLV Rebels have had their problems this season. The team has lost four in a row, the last three in blowout fashion. However those games were against good teams: Wyoming, Nevada, BYU and Utah. New Mexico is winless this season and field one of the worst teams in the nation. The Lobos are at the bottom of virtually every offensive category, including last in converting third downs. Their defense is also in the bottom 5 percent of FCS teams. UNLV has a high-octane offense, which is ranked ninth in the country in converting third downs. This is a huge game for UNLV and a big win here can help salvage a promising season gone awry. The Rebels have lost 20 straight Mountain West Conference games, but they should break that dubious streak this afternoon. ,UNLV -1½.
