Busch & Busch favored at NASCAR's Talladega

Jimmie Johnson didn’t win last week but he still gained in the points, increasing his hold in the NASCAR Chase for the Championship over the nearest competitor.

This week’s race at Talladega may present his toughest obstacle in his quest to win an unprecedented four straight Cup titles.

Johnson’s goal this week will be to lay back, stay out of trouble and make a run with about 10 laps to go. A caution as he may try to begin his game plan: even the defending three-time Cup Champion isn’t immune from being smacked by "The Big One," which takes out just about anyone it wants regardless of class.

The drivers will be using a new restrictor plate this week with smaller holes allowing less fuel to the carburetor as a reaction to the spectacular final lap crash that happened the last time they visited Talladega.

It’ll take the drivers a little longer to get up to speed, but when drafting, the speeds should be only slightly less from the April race.

There’s nothing they can do to prevent the three- and four-wide racing that will occur and "The Big One" will show its wrath on a few.

Look for the Busch brothers to have a good race this week with Kyle coming on top.

NHRA in Vegas

NHRA Drag Racing roars through The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. If you have never been, it is worth a look. There may be no better family value in Las Vegas than attending one of these events.

Each and every one of the drivers will sign autographs and even furnish the photos. They take the time to talk and laugh with the folks who make it all happen for them. It’s a major change from any other sport and quite refreshing, check it out!
