College football:

Georgia Tech -12 vs. Vanderbilt : Georgia Tech takes a break from ACC action for this tilt with SEC bottom-feeder Vanderbilt and should have enough firepower to put away the Commodores in relatively easy fashion. At 7-1, the Yellow Jackets have been impressive and, except for a dropped pass in the end zone against Miami, could easily be 8-0. Since that Game 3 loss, Tech has beaten Mississippi State, Florida State and Virginia Tech in consecutive weeks, using a combination of their high-powered offense (32 points/game) and timely defense. Vanderbilt has been mostly abysmal, especially against SEC competition. The Commodores are 0-5 in conference play, scoring a paltry 39 TOTAL points. For the season, the Vandy offense has averaged just 16 points per game. Their only FBS victory this season came against lowly Rice, 36-17. The only concern with Georgia Tech is they are playing their ninth straight game without a bye week, but Vanderbilt is doing the same. Georgia Tech -12.
