But cashing your bets can be exhilarating

I love this time of year as we head into the College Bowl season, and Santa and his helpers are working away at the North Pole getting ready to bring a little merry around the world.

All we want to do here at Gaming Today is get a few winners to help our loyal readers have a happier holiday, and that is exactly what we have been doing on our website with our daily betting tips and our California horse picks.

If you have a computer just go on and sign up so you won’t miss any of our big bowl releases.

There are some big games this week and we will get right to them but I would like to know how the books came up with the line on the Steelers/Ravens game with the Ravens -8 points. I almost knocked some old lady over trying to get to the window to bet the Steelers plus the points.

Ben is good, but you just knew they would rally around the new QB Dixon who looked really good. It took OT but the Ravens pulled it out by a field goal and that is what the line should have been.

And what about the end of the UCLA/USC game? That was really crazy, but most of the Saturday games were, and if you were a dog bettor you were very happy going into the Sunday games. Now let’s get to some selections.

NFL

Thursday, Dec. 3

Jets -3 vs Bills: Bills lost first game in New York 16-13 as a nine point dog. Both teams coming off big wins but these two teams look very equal so we must recommend taking the points in what could be another game decided by a field goal, but this time around it will be the Bills kicking the game winner. BILLS +3

NFL (quick picks)

Redskins +8

Titans +7

Chargers -11

College Football

Oregon State +9½ at Oregon: I will take a good shot on this game taking the points with the Beavers who have been on fire going 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games with the only loss coming at USC losing by six points. The Ducks poured it on last year 65-38 and many on this team who played in that game are itching for revenge. OREGON STATE +9½

Friday, Dec. 4

MAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

FORD FIELD-DETROIT

Ohio +10½ vs Central Michigan: These two teams played last year with the Chippewas winning 31-28. Both teams are plying good football but prefer taking the points once again as it just looks like the Bobcats are in the zone and not just the end zone but the defensive zone and that last win over a good Temple team sticks out. OHIO +10½

Saturday, Dec. 5

West Virginia -2½ at Rutgers: Just a perfect spot for the Scarlet Knights as they catch the Mountaineers off big a win over rival Pitt and they also have revenge on their mind from last year’s 24-17 loss. They showed a lot of grit with the win last week after getting humiliated by Syracuse the week before. RUTGERS ON THE MONEY LINE

San Jose State +17 at Louisiana Tech: The Spartans just cannot score any points averaging just 9.2 points a game in their last five games. They have one ATS cover all season. The Bulldogs from Louisiana Tech have four straight covers losing to Boise by just 10. LOUISIANA TECH -17

Wisconsin -11½ at Hawaii: This will be my second best play of the week and I just may parlay my winnings from the Oregon State game and bet it all back on Hawaii plus the points in this game. The Warriors have found some defense in their last three games winning all three, 24-6 over New Mexico State, 17-10 over San Jose State and beating Navy last week 24-17. Wisky will be a little frisky on the sand with all those beautiful Hawaiian girls to look at so just dig deep and take the points. HAWAII +11½

CONFERENCE USA

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Houston -1 vs East Carolina: Pirates got crushed by Houston last year, the Pirates will have the fan base but the Cougars will just score more points than Carolina can answer. HOUSTON -1

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Florida -4½ vs Alabama: This will be a must watch but you may have to turn the sound off since the CBS crew will be announcing the play by play. Gators were just 2-1 to win the BCS Championship before the season started and I really thought that line was a crock but I guess not. They beat the Tide 31-20 last year and see no reason that the score will be right around the same result. Gators are just the best team in the country and that is that. FLORIDA -4½

ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Georgia Tech -1 vs Clemson: Clemson coming off huge loss at South Carolina, Tech coming off big loss as a touchdown favorite against Georgia. Tech beat the Tigers 30-27 in the second game of the year in Atlanta, it may be Clemson’s turn. CLEMSON +1

BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Texas -14 vs Nebraska 5:00 PM ABC: These two teams haven’t met since ’07 with the Longhorns just getting by the Cornhuskers 28-25 as a 20 point chalk. Huskers can play some defense and just may be able to get the cover. NEBRASKA +14
