The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino has a new promotion for their slot club members. The “Treasures of Venice” is a slot promotion that will give Venetian Players club members the chance to win $1 million. The event runs from July 1 to September 30, 2001.

“Treasures of Venice,” is similar to the hit game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.” It will give Venetian members a chance to become millionaires every day. Players Club members earn an entry simply by playing slot machines at the Venetian. Existing Player Club members will receive a complimentary entry for just stopping by the Players Club. New members will receive two entries when they sign up for the program. Slot club members can earn additional entries by simply playing their favorite machines while they have their members cards inserted into the machines. For every 25 points they earn they’ll be awarded an additional entry into the drawing for $1 million.

Slot Marketing Director DeCourcy Graham said, “Our Players Club members truly enjoyed the excitement of this program last year, so much so that they demanded we do it again this year. This year, we’ve added a double earning period for our loyal members where between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. the entries will be doubled, not only adding to the promotion’s excitement, but also giving them the opportunity to earn twice as many entries into the drawing.”

The contest will start each night at 6 p.m. At that time three names will be drawn to participate in the “Treasures of Venice.” The three contestants will then compete in a three minute slot tournament playoff round where the top scorer will move up to the $1 million game round. Once there the contestant has to open 14 treasure chests that contain different denominational prizes that progressively double in value, ranging from $100 to $1 million. Not only do these chests hold cash, they also hold 10 keys, some of which open the next treasure chests. As the players advance, the number of correct keys becomes less. If the player is successful in opening a chest, they have the option to either walk away with the money they found, or try to open the next chest, risking what they have already won.

There are two safety zones in the game. They are treasure chest number four, which contains $1,000 and treasure chest number nine which contains $32,000. If a contestant opens one of those treasure chest they are guaranteed that money and they can proceed in the game.

Graham summed up the promotion, “It is our goal to feature a slot promotion that rivals the other must see attractions found at The Venetian.”
