One of the stars of last month’s G2E gaming expo is now appearing in a Nevada casino near you.
IGT’s highly-acclaimed new video slot, Sex and the City, has been installed in nine Nevada casinos, with more installations to come.
Sex and the City Multi-Level Progressive slots are IGT’s first MegaJackpots machines to offer MultiPlay, in which players can play up to four games at once, with different outcomes on the same machine.
Based on the popular HBO TV series, Sex and the City created quite a buzz at G2E; it didn’t hurt having one of the show’s stars, Chris Noth, meet and greet G2E visitors at IGT’s booth.
"We knew this game was a winner from the start," IGT Vice President of MegaJackpots Tom Mikulich said. "Our game development team made sure the slot was absolutely true to the ‘Sex and the City’ brand – right down to the shoes and cosmos. And simply put, this game is fun. Players are going to love it, and our customers will, too."
Sex and the City gives players a chance at five progressives and four interactive bonus games. With each bonus game, players get to watch their favorite video clips from the TV series.
The video clips feature shoes, jewelry, fashion and more, and are tied to specific bonus themes.
Moreover, Chris Noth’s character, Mr. Big, talks players through the bonus games, cheers them on and congratulates them their wins: "Hey kid, that was well done."
Players are also immersed in the sounds of "Sex and the City," including the music, which is upbeat, catchy and oh-so-familiar, all enhanced with IGT’s new Surround Chair sound system.
Sex and the City is a 30-payline slot in which players can bet up to three credits per line on all four games for a maximum bet of 600 credits. The bonus hit frequency is about every 25 games with all four games active.
Bonuses play one after the other and can be initiated on up to all four games at once. Three or more scatter symbols in the base game (in any position) per game trigger the bonus wheel, which is fixed above the slot screen.
The new slot machines are now available at the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Hard Rock, MGM Grand, Palms, Planet Hollywood, The Venetian and South Point in Las Vegas, as well as the Atlantis in Reno.
"With the economic downturn, we felt it was important to offer something new and exciting to players," said IGT Vice President of Game Design Joe Kaminkow. We want to give people a really fun experience. The game is perfection."
