Locals Only Benefit From Sona

Just a clarification of last week’s story about Sona Mobile and its relationship with Station Casinos.

The article did not include the fact that under the Sona and Station Casinos joint agreement, Sona has exclusivity with SC and the Las Vegas locals market. The pact does not include all of Las Vegas, in particular the Strip resorts. Good luck to Sona and Station Casinos in their endeavors.

HAIL CAESAR!: Kudos to the guys and gals in the Caesars Palace Sports Book for putting the rush on the World Series odds for Seattle Mariners odds after the trade for ex-Baltimore pitcher Eric Bedard. Seattle dropped from 25-1 to 18-1 and from 12-1 to 9-1 to win the AL pennant.

Longshots Worth A Look In 500

Here’s some more info on this Sunday’s Daytona 500, courtesy of GT’s motorsports guru Micah Roberts.

The top average finishers among active drivers in the two Daytona races are longshots David Ragan (8.5) and David Gilliland (9.5). Ragan is 100-1 at Station Casinos, Gilliland 45-1. Clint Bowyer is third best at 10.3, while defending two-time points champ Jimmie Johnson (6-1) is fourth at 12.0 Johnson won the 500 in 2006.

The 500 co-favorite, Dale Earnhardt Jr, is fifth best at 12.9, followed by Elliott Sadler (13.9), Jeff Gordon (15.9), Dale Jarrett (16.4), Kevin Harvick (16.4) and Mark Martin (17.5). Tony Stewart’s average finish is 19.6, but won the July 4 race in both 2005 and 2006. If you pick a Toyota to win the 500, the odds are 3-1.
