Jul 21, 2001 12:32 AM

The Federal Trade Commission has ended its review of the pending $625-million sale of Harveys Casino Resorts to Harrah's Entertainment Inc., paving the way for the deal to close this summer.

The deal must now receive approval from Nevada gaming regulators, who are expected to consider the sale later this month.

Under the deal, Harrah's will acquire Harveys Resort & Casino in Lake Tahoe, the Harveys Casino Hotel and the Bluffs Run Casino, both in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Harveys Wagon Wheel Hotel/Casino in Central City, Colorado.
