Mike Mecca names Ranch executives

Mike Mecca, vice president and general manager of Green Valley Ranch Station Casino, the newest property being constructed by Station Casinos Inc. (STN), continues to fill out his executive staff.

Recent announcements included Dawn LaGuardia being named director of food and beverage and Kirk Dougan being appointed director of facilities.

A five-year Station Casinos employee, LaGuardia has been serving as food and beverage director at Sunset Station.

Dougan held a facilities management position with Mandalay Resort Group (MBG) before joining Station Casinos.

Jason Schulhofer has joined Ameristar Casinos Inc. (ASCA) as senior counsel. He will report to Gordon R. Kanofsky, senior vice president of legal affairs.

Following the conformation of William S. Farish as U.S. ambassador to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Churchill Downs Inc. (CHDN) turned to Carl F. Pollard to replace Farish as company chairman. Pollard as served on the Churchill Downs board of directors since 1985.

Patrick Cruzen, long-time gaming executive, has joined United Metal Technologies Inc. as corporate controller.

Don Givens, vice president and general manager of Excalibur Hotel/Casino, has resigned to pursue a religious ministry and to build a church in Phoenix, Arizona.
