ILLINOIS OFFICIALS KILL PROPOSED ROSEMONT DEAL

The proposed plan for MGM Mirage to gain a gaming license in Illinois for the planned purchase of a proposed Rosemont casino has been killed.

State officials told representatives of Emerald Casino Inc. that the Illinois Gaming Board would not approve or consider a license transfer.

Emerald was told that state officials would hold an open bidding process to award the gaming license. MGM Mirage, a Las Vegas company, owns or operates 18 casinos on three continents.
