Only 50 lucky players will be allowed to compete for the $1 million first place prize in the regal Maximus 2001 Slot Tournament at Caesars Palace, held Friday through Sunday. Cash prizes will be awarded through 10th place, for a total prize pool of $1.250 million.

There’s still time to participate in other Caesars Palace promotions associated with the Strip resort’s 35th anniversary. Visitors to the casino can win Caesars Emperors Club logo merchandise when they hit designated jackpots on Roman Rewards $1 slot machines in the resort’s Forum Casino near the Forum Shops. Costumed Roman characters will invite visitors to participate on the hour from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays.

In addition, a 10-minute Ancient Jeopardy round will precede each tournament in which guests will be rewarded for every question answered correctly about Ancient Rome.

Players can also vie for nightly drawings for chances to spin and win cash prizes ranging from $35 to $3,500. All new and existing Emperors Club members may receive one free drawing entry per day by presenting their photo identification and club cards at either of two Emperors Club booths at Caesars Palace.

An additional drawing ticket may be earned for every 35 points accumulated by playing Caesars slot machines through 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 31. Drawings are held at 5 p.m. each night on the stairway landing in the Forum Casino. Emperors Club member ship is free, and enables players to earn points for cash, prizes, discounts, free stays, dining and special events.
