BINION LICENSE OK'D IN INDIANA

Aug 25, 2001 6:49 PM

The Indiana Gaming Commission Friday unanimously approved the license-renewal application of the Horseshoe Casino Hammond in northwest Indiana.

Horseshoe CEO Jack Binion expressed gratitude on behalf of the more than 2,300 Horseshoe Casino employees in Hammond and the other 5,000 Horseshoe employees nationally.

The vote followed a lengthy application process and a detailed review of Horseshoe's performance since it was first approved for an Indiana license in November 1999. Binion purchased the former Empress Casino Hammond in 1999 and then changed its name to Horseshoes earlier this year.
