Games for week ending Monday, Sept.  3

National League

Expos at Phillies: Going with Mike Thurman and Tony Armas Jr. to inflict further punishment on the Phils.

Cubs at Braves: The next two weeks Chicago plays a dozen games against Florida and Atlanta. Going with Jon Lieber for Chicago’s lone victory in Atlanta.

Astros at Brewers: Roy Oswalt and Dave Mlicki keep Houston in control.

D’backs at Padres: San Diego can be tough at home. Curt Schilling and Miguel Batista give Arizona help for their drive towards a playoff spot.

Cards at Dodgers: The series favors Los Angeles with the home field advantage plus Kevin Brown and Eric Gagne pitching.

Rockies at Giants: The ÂíGiants, at home, could make up ground against erratic Colorado. Going against Colorado lefties Denny Neagle and Mike Hampton. Make Jason Schmidt a double play should he pitch for the Giants.

American League

Yanks at Red Sox: Going with Duque and Pettitte to put a nail in the Sox coffin.

M’s at O’s:   Going with Freddy Garcia and Jamie Moyer for two wins as the Mariners edge closer to the all-time AL record for wins, held by the Yankees.

A’s at D-Rays: Barry Zito and Tim Hudson get the nod.

Indians at Chisox: At one time this four-game series for Chicago looked large. However, Chicago will be motivated for the season’s final match up with Cleveland. Mark Buehrle and Jon Garland win two.

Angels at Twins: Both teams are seeing their chances of making the postseason grow slimmer. The Twins keep hopes alive with Brad Radke and Joe Mays grabbing two victories.
