The casinos along Mississippi's Gulf Coast reported a 4% increase in revenue for the month of September.

Strong profits at the beginning of the month and heavy promotions near the end contributed to the increases.

Casinos brought in nearly $91.9 million in September, compared to $88.4 million in September 2000.

Casino executives largerly attributed the gains to the Gulf Coast's drive-in market.
