Finally, gambling will be coming to the Catskill Mountains.
The largest gambling expansion plan in New York State history was signed into law Wednesday, enabling new casinos to be established in the Catskills, Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
Lawmakers also included Powerball in the gaming package. The lottery is used in 21 states and Washington D.C. and could bring revenues into the state within 90 days.
State leaders hope to raise $1 billion annually within three years from the six new casinos, video betting terminals and Powerball. New Jersey casino owner Donald Trump said he may file a challenge to the law in court.
