Stanford ready to ‘shame’ Cal

The Game may be known as The Shame this year when Cal plays Stanford.

The Golden Bears have done everything possible to unseat Duke from the No. 1 position in the GT Dirty Dozen.

California’s numbers in the poll speak for themselves. This is a horrible football team, only exceeded by Duke’s two years without a victory.

The Blue Devils have two shots at securing imperfection in back-to-back seasons. First test comes this Saturday at North Carolina.

That defeat should be early and painless. The season finale is home against Clemson. The Tigers will be coming off their annual in-state battle with South Carolina, they could be emotionally spent. So, maybe there is hope for California.

If Cal fails, Navy, Tulsa and Houston are all legitimate No. 1 pretenders in what looms as a fight to the finish. How awful.
