The newest jewel off the Vegas Strip opened to standing room only crowds and the full red carpet Hollywood treatment Thursday night.
The Palms, a 42-story, 455-room ultra chic casino resort attracted such luminaries as Sugar Ray Leonard, Cuba Gooding Jr. Tyra Banks, Samuel L. Jackson, Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Matt Williams, David Schwimmer and Gaming Today's Monti Rock III.
The Maloof family owns The Palms and the NBA's Sacramento Kings. Several members of the Kings attended the lavish affair, including centers Vlade Divac and Bob Pollard.
The VIP party lasted from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. when the hotel officially opened its doors to the public.
