We do love inventive proposition bets and the MGM Grand has come up with some stimulating thought for the major leagues, NFL and college football seasons.

First in the majors, bettors can have the New York Mets, the New York Yankees and the world champion Boston Red Sox as a three-team package to win the World Series. If either of the trio do, the payoff is +170. If you bet against the Mets, Yanks and BoSox, the payoff is -210. Tends to make you want the 3.

The Super Bowl trio in the NFL include the Patriots, Colts and Cowboys at +175. Anyone else is -215. Yes, anyone includes champion NY Giants.

In college FB Georgia, USC and Ohio St are +240. The rest, like LSU, are -300.

Ko Round In Champions Soccer

Better get an early seat at the Crown & Anchor Pub (East Trop near UNLV ) for Tuesday’s second games of the first knockout round in the Champions League soccer tournament.

The Hilton SuperBook makes Barcelona the 7-2 favorite, followed by Manchester United at 9-2. Man U is one of four English Premier League clubs in the tourney and all are below 10-1 odds to win. Chelsea is third choice at 5-1 with Arsenal and Liverpool each 7-1.

In Tuesday’s matches, Barcelona is a -400 favorite over Celtic; Man U a -220 fave against Lyon; Chelsea -330 over Olympiacos; Liverpool a +400 underdog to Inter Milan and Arsenal a +250 dog against A.C. Milan. Other faves Tuesday include Real Madrid (-180), Sevilla (-220) and Porto (-140).– Mark Mayer
