Casinos in Colorado have been successful in overcoming the events of Sept. 11 from a financial standpoint.

State casino revenues were higher in October and September than ever before in those months, according to an Associated Press report.

Colorado casinos posted $56.3 million in adjusted gross proceeds in October, a rise of four percent from the same month last year. The log was $59.7 million in September, up 10 percent from the same time last year.

"We're not impacted by concerns people have about flying," said John Bohannon, senior director of marketing at the Isle of Capri Casino in Black Hawk.

Most gaming customers drive to the limited-stakes parlors in Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek.
