Rep. Robert Goodlatte of Virginia has revived a bill he introduced last year that would ban gambling on the Internet.

Goodlatte's latest legislation would allow prosecutors to go to court to get injunctions against any party to prevent illegal gambling.

More important, it would bar gambling businesses from taking credit cards and checks for illegal wagers over the Internet.

A hearing on the bill is scheduled for Thursday before the House subcommittee on crime.
