Ms. Senior America Pageant to take place at Imperial Palace

Dec 4, 2001 3:31 AM

They have style”¦they have grace”¦and they have to be 60 years and older. The 21st annual Ms. Senior America Pageant will take place at the Imperial Palace, with the preliminary round on Wednesday and the Finals on Thursday. Activities on both days begin at 1 p.m.

The Ms. Senior America Pageant is a national, not-for-profit organization that works toward presenting the positive aspects of aging. Contestants from around the country participate in four categories: personal interview, inner beauty, evening gown and talent.

Much like the contestants in the first pageant in 1972, today’s contestants are models of volunteerism, serving in organizations ranging from traditional community service to advocacy organizations.

With entertainer Steve Rossi as Master of Ceremonies and production assistance from John Stuart, this year’s pageant will be full of fun. Patti Gallagher, Ms. Senior America 2000 of Palm Springs, CA, will be on hand to crown the new Ms. Senior America 2001.

Tickets are $15 each for the preliminaries and finals and are available by calling (702) 794-3261 or toll free (888) 777-7664.
