CROUCH RUNS TO HEISMAN TROPHY AWARD

Dec 8, 2001 10:20 PM

The Heisman Trophy, representing the nation's top college football player, went to Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch in ceremonies at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York.

Crouch edged three other quarterbacks in the voting -- Ken Dorsey of Miami, Rex Grossman of Florida and Joey Harrington of Oregon.

>Crouch, noted more for his running than his passing stats, led Nebraska to a No. 1 ranking that the Cornhuskers held until their upset loss at Colorado in mid-November.
