You’re playing with fire betting on multiple teams giving double-digit points. Often, as was the case with me, you get a 4-10 burn.

Time to get out the lotion.

Some of the conference begin their tournaments so we will deal with the matchups known through this week. Congrats to Cornell, making the Dance for the first time in 20 years as Ivy champ.

Tuesday, March 4

UNLV +4½ at N.Mexico: The Pit is usually that for the visitor. The Lobos are 12-3 ATS on their floor and five of their last six wins have been blowouts. UNLV looks to be in the Dance regardless. The Lobos probably are, but a win here could secure an at-large. N.MEXICO.

Wednesday, March 5

Syracuse +1 at Seton Hall: The Orange are on the bubble and a loss in South Orange could be lethal. Seton Hall just 3-8 ATS at home, which makes the open road appealing. SYRACUSE.

Tex A&M +3½ at Baylor: Round 2. The first meeting was an incredible multiple-OT 116-110 win for Baylor in Aggieland. A&M will come in angry after being spanked at Oklahoma. A&M.

Thursday, March 6

Clemson -3½ at Ga Tech: The host Yellow Jackets on a downslide with only the ACC tourney to look forward to. Clemson beat Tech by 15 at Littlejohn and should repeat. CLEMSON.

Friday, March 7

Cornell -8 at Penn: Congrats to the Big Red for being the first team into the Dance as Ivy League champs. Usually that honor goes to Penn. No motivation for Cornell here. PENN.

Saturday, March 8

N.Carolina +3 at Duke: Keep Dickie V in his seat, please! We’ll let ESPN overhype this baby. Carolina lost to Coach K at Chapel Hill. Expect a biggie from Hansbrough. N. CAROLINA.

Louisville +4½ at G’town: The winner will be considered the best in the Big East. We’ve been on the Louisville train for awhile and not about to get off. LOUISVILLE.

Sunday, March 9

Florida +1½ at Kentucky: Who would have thought these SEC powers would be fighting for their Big Dance lives? It’s true. Kentucky has the better SEC mark, but Gators are coming. FLORIDA.

Okie St +14½ at Texas: The Longhorns have beaten UCLA, Tennessee and Kansas, but just fell to Texas Tech. The Pokes lost by only 2 to the Horns in Stillwater and are on a run of four straight covers to go with five wins in a row. OKIE ST.
