He was Ol’ Blue Eyes, and he was Chairman of the Board, but more than anything Frank Sinatra is one of the enduring legends in show business. And thanks to IGT, he is part of the casino scene with its Sinatra Slots.

The new slots will debut Wednesday ”” Sinatra’s birthday ”” with a ceremonial first handle pull by Franks Sinatra Jr. at the Mirage Resort as part of Las Vegas’ citywide salute to Frank Sinatra.

The celebration includes a free concert on Tuesday night (Dec. 11) in the MGM’s EFX Theater starring Frank, Jr., with possibly a guest appearance by Nancy Sinatra.

The celebration also coincides with the release of a new Sinatra musical CD by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority.

“The timing of the launch and tie-in with Sinatra Day in Las Vegas all came together somewhat by accident with everyone looking at Sinatra’s birthday as a great opportunity to honor him,” said Ed Rogich, VP Marketing for IGT. “Through the cooperation of MGM Mirage Resorts, the Sinatra family and LVCVA, we were able to bring about an exciting opportunity to honor Frank’s history in Las Vegas and launch the new slots.”

The machines will premiere at MGM Mirage properties throughout Southern Nevada and will be installed at casinos throughout the state beginning in early January.

The elegant Sinatra Slots are available in four versions, celebrating cities Sinatra was identified with during his career: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The 2-coin dollar machine is one of IGT’s Megajackpots progressive system games, with a top award that builds from a base amount of $500,000 (paid in annual installments, upon verification of the win).

The machine features motion lighting in the machine “topper,” which accents the machine’s marquee and the Sinatra signature against a starlit sky. Backlit slot reels and enhanced stereo sound add depth and bring the Sinatra personality to the forefront.

Each Sinatra game version plays to a medley of his best-loved songs, such as “Fly Me to the Moon,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “My Way” and “My Kind of Town.” Frank also entertains players with congratulatory remarks and unexpected comments from his library of Sinatra-isms.

Three Sinatra symbols with two coins bet lands the MegaJackpot. Each game is tied to a popular IGT slot game, including 5X Play, 10X Play, Double Diamond and Triple Lucky 7’s.
