The Celebrity Trim-A-Tree at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian is bringing holiday happiness to many more people than those who rally around it.

Giant-sized ornaments have been decorated and personalized by celebrities and will be showcased on the 18-foot tree.  More important, all of these ornaments are part of a public silent auction.

Visitors to the Grand Canal Shoppes can bid on these ornaments at computer  terminals located throughout the shopping arcade. All proceeds will go to various children’s charities, which are the choice of each celebrity. The celebrity tree is located at St. Mark’s Square.

Those who have donated celebrity ornaments include:  Demi Moore, Wolfgang Puck, Wynona Judd, the cast of ER, the cast of Friends, the cast of West Wing, the  Drew Carey Show, WB’s The Gilmore Girls, Natalie Merchant, the cast of  Mystere, the cast of Lord of the Dance, the cast of “O,” The Blue Man Group, Kenny Rogers, Paul Anka, NYC’s Rockettes, Danny Gans,  Melinda, Lance Burton, Louie Anderson, Charro, Bill Acosta, Clint  Homes, The Scintas, and sports celebrities Joe Garagiola and Harmon Kilebrew to name a few.

You can also participate in the silent auction for these one-of-a-kind ornaments by logging on to www.venetian.com/celebrity. The bidding officially ends at 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2001.
