Casino industry lobbyists will ask the Nevada Gaming Commission to approve a plan that would lower the minimum wager to $500 a bet to promote more private area play.

Lobbyists had told state legislators earlier this year that secluded gambling salons were needed to lure an estimated 1.000 high rollers, who bet at least $20,000 a hand on blackjack, baccarat and other table games.

According to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report, an estimated $1 of every $10 won by Strip casinos last year was earned from baccarat.
