Global Gaming Expo is on track to shatter the attendance mark set at its inaugural show.

G2E reports that 6,204 gaming industry pros have pre-registered for the 2002 confab, which will run Sept. 17-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

What’s more, all of the industry’s major manufacturers have reserved booth space. More than 137,000 net square feet out of a target of 155,000 net square feet has already been sold for the show, co-hosted by the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions.

Attendance at last fall’s conclave totaled 8,653, according to Expomark, the exhibition-auditing unit of the Audit Bureau of Circulations. “The release of audited numbers clearly demonstrates the integrity of G2E and solidifies our position as the pre-eminent business-to-business marketplace of the gaming industry,’’ said Rick White, president and CEO of Reed.
