Rob Akers was one of 20 competitors to post a 13-2 mark last week as he took a commanding nine-game lead heading to the final week of Gaming Today's Bookies Battle.

The Venetian's director of race and sports owns a 149-81 season mark. Akers broke open a tight race with Barbary Coast's Johnny Spot with a 33-12 mark over the past three weeks.

Scott Elliott, of Joker's Wild in Henderson, matched Akers' mark last week to move into second place with an overall 140-93 record.

Spot fell back to third place at 137-96, tied with Binion's Don Harkey, Circus Circus' Casey Lewless. A group of three including Foxwoods' Phyllis Brocato, Las Vegas Hilton's Cyril Burger, Primadonna's Glynis Mickelian share fourth place at 137-96.

The consensus went 13-2 and stands 138-95 for the season.
