ATLANTIC CITY HAS STRONG DECEMBER

Jan 3, 2002 11:38 PM

Initial statistics indicate Atlantic City generated gross gaming revenue of $349.9 million in December, an 18.2% increase from the $296 million in December 2000.

The increase is attributed to unseasonably warm weather and a shift in table hold percentages — a 19.7% increase over last December's table revenue.

Caesars Atlantic City led the parade with gross gaming improving 28.3% to $44.1 million. Other strong performers were Showboat, up 25.9% to $29.2 million, and Trump Plaza, up 24.6% to $25.8 million.
