Playing a ‘Trump’ card

There’ll be no mistaking the fact that Donald Trump will be invading southern California this spring.

The billionaire real estate mogul and casino owner will take over the management of Spotlight 29 casino in April and the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians wants everyone to know it. Just to underscore Trump’s participation, the property will have a name change to Trump 29.

And area drivers will see Trump’s face on a half-dozen billboards on area roads just to make sure they are aware that “The Donald” will be in charge.

The casino is in the midst of a $60 million expansion with the first phase set to open in April, under the supervision of the Trump organization, assuming, of course, that the management contract between the tribe and Trump is approved by the National Indian Gaming Commission.
