A Hank Williams concert Thomas attended with his father beget a 30-plus-year career complete with gold and platinum records, 15 top 40 hits, 10 top 40 country hits, five Grammy Awards and two Dove Awards (gospel music).

By the time he recorded his signature, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” for the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, he had earned four gold records. It was perseverance that brought him to that point after several years of performing at dances, working as the opening act for headliners in his hometown of Houston, Texas, and touring with Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars bus tours.

Since the 1970s, Thomas has released several gospel albums and has become one of the biggest selling Christian artists of the decade.

And, he still tours. Thomas has been recognized as one of the greatest contemporary singers by several songwriters. He credits the writers for that reputation. “The songs still stand up, that’s the sign of a great writer. I deliver what the guys write and hope it has a lasting effect,” he says. The songs do. Fans will have the opportunity to hear Thomas move easily from rock ’n roll, to country, to gospel during his Railhead shows.
