2 FOR TUESDAY Mark Mayer...Last Wk: 1-2. ’08 Record: 9-10

GRIZZLIES +11 at BULLS (NBA):

This pick is more an indictment of Memphis than support for Chicago. The Grizz are awful both on the court and in the front office. Giving away Pau Gasol may cost Memphis fans their team. The Grizz are 0-8 ATS in the last 8. We hope for 9. BULLS.

SUNS -2˝ at BLAZERS (NBA):

So far Phoenix has been no better with Shaq with the big problem defense or lack thereof. The Suns have allowed at least 113 points in four of their last five games. Meanwhile, Portland has covered its last 4, keyed by LaMarcus Aldridge (17.0 ppg). And Brandon Roy is back! BLAZERS.....Bonus play: Hawks +1˝.

2 FOR TUESDAY Richard Saber... last wk: 2-1. ’08 record: 11-10

PENGUINS at LIGHTNING (NHL):

In the norm, I would take a shot with a bad team like the Lightning in this spot. Pens are probably wondering who made this schedule – at Boston, at Ottawa, a one-game homestand and now at Tampa. But goalie Ty Conklin is 17-6-5 in the nets. PENGUINS.

CANUCKS at AVALANCHE (NHL):

The Avs look to keep their three-game win streak alive and maintain their slim lead over Vancouver in the Northwest Division. The Canucks hit Denver on a downer, losers of three straight. Home ice hasn’t meant much in the NHL this year, but all the angles favor Colorado. AVS.....Bonus play: NY Rangers.
