The Tropicana’s Folies Bergere proudly announces the promotion of dancer Stephanie Shaw to the lead female adagio dancer position.

Shaw began taking lessons at the age of five and quickly decided to pursue a dancing career. She performed in various productions with the Boston Ballet and won several awards.

After working as a dancer briefly at Busch Gardens theme park in Virginia, Shaw began performing on cruise ships for a span of six years, traveling to ports in areas such as North America, South America, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe.

Shaw’s first appearance in a Las Vegas production show was in Enter the Night at the Stardust. Two years ago, she became a part of the Folies Bergere family at the Tropicana, joining the cast in the role of a dancer. Her sleek dance moves and tremendous flexibility and talent are what earned her the new title of lead adagio dancer.

The Folies Bergere is the nation’s longest running production show. Imported from Paris, France in 1959 by Entertainment Director Lou Walters, the show has been onstage at the Tropicana ever since. Shows are performed nightly at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., except Thursdays. The early show is covered for audiences of all ages and the late show is topless in the traditional Las Vegas style.
