Career employee named Palace Station marketing director

Cedric R. Crear, a career employee with Station Casinos Inc., has been appointed director of marketing at Palace Station Hotel & Casino, according to an announcement from Jonathan Swain, vice president and general manager.

Crear began in the company’s management training program in 1994 and held several positions before moving on to the post of director of marketing at Barley’s Casino & Brewing Co. in Henderson. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Howard University.

Three prominent Nevada lawyers will be participating in a Gaming Law Symposium being held at Chapman University School of Law in Orange, Cal., on Feb. 1.

They are Professor Shannon Bybee, executive director of UNLV International Gaming Institute; Brian Sandoval, former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, and Anthony Cabot, a partner in the firm of Lionel Sawyer & Collins.

James A. Ryan is the new CFO for CryptoLogic Inc. (CRYP), succeeding Harvey Solursh.

Alexis M. Herman, former U.S. Secretary of Labor, has joined the board of directors of MGM MIRAGE Inc. (MGG).

Rev. Charles Bolin, casino chaplain at the Riviera Hotel/Casino, has been recalled to active duty with the U.S. Air Force. Lt. Col. Bolin will serve as chaplain for Operation Enduring Freedom, at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

Laus M. Adbo has been appointed president of Innovative Gaming Corporation of America. He will continue to perform his duties as chief financial officer.

Chris Fismer, chairman of the National Gambling Board of South Africa, has been elected vice-chairman of the International Association of Gaming Regulators.
